The 2020 Barbera d'Asti Tre Vigne uses a portion of fruit from the ancient La Crena vineyard with vines planted in 1932. The rest of the fruit comes from the Agliano area of Asti (in the Nizza wine growing area). This is a ripe expression with dried prune and sweet raisin. The heat of the vintage is transmitted through the baked and sweet-smelling aromas present here. It shows a high 15% alcohol content and a rich, velvety texture

90 pts Given the quality of the Crianza I really was delighted to find this Reserva, needs way more time to fully flower however, still very enjoyable for me now. The Crianza is ready now, but this shows sleeping intensity and great future potential and longevity, wait a few years however.
Typical earthy red fruit with good use of oak, dusty vanilla. Weighty, full with a long finish, it will be a star in the future.
